A pronoun, like a noun, is one of the eight essential parts of speech.
It is a word that replaces a noun to avoid repetition in a sentence. Pronouns can represent people, places, things, or ideas, just like nouns1.
1. What are Subject Pronouns?
A subject pronoun is a pronoun that appears before the verb in a sentence.2
It identifies the subject of the sentence, indicating who or what the sentence is about. Subject pronouns can be singular or plural, depending on whether they refer to one person or multiple people3.

It replaces a person, animal, or thing that receives the action in the sentence. Like subject pronouns, object pronouns can be singular or plural, depending on whether they refer to one person or multiple people5.
